Pre-sentence trial

I spent a few days considering job opportunities outside Acatraz, thinking I'd avoid next semester's sentence altogether. However, leaving Acatraz in the final semester is kind of like walking away from a bag of free money.

Other jobs pay better or at least as well, but they also have consequences for not going to work each day, not performing at 100%, and not caring much about the clients. At my current job, I teach only a couple days a week, nobody watches over my daily routine, and my lack of concern about my fellow inmates really doesn't much matter.

No, I'll serve out this sentence, take the cash, and then step up to something outside the public employment sector. In other words, I'll pay my debt to society...or collect on one.
